Soldiers Serve, Veterans Served, Disability Should be Reserved

Much like with DEI, military service has been conflated with undeserved welfare. US veterans become influencers through social media and advertise disability checks.

For the public, injury from battle makes sense. Support for purple hearted fighters for life feels just. Any veteran receiving lifetime disability because of their mental health from peaceful service breaks the public’s trust. It undermines all support for veterans.

Parents don’t like mental health days for their children.

Citizens don’t like lifetime mental health disability for seat warming veterans.

Military logistics can be compared to civilian logistics. Disability checks for Amazon warehouse workers don’t match disability checks for synonymous positions in the military.

People don’t like unfairness.

Much like support for teachers erodes when people in the private sector struggle with no vacation or holidays, civilians frown at soldiers claiming forever money because of weakness.

Soldiers are best as heroes. Same for police, fireman, doctors, and astronauts.

Be careful. Illusions become delusions faster than TikTok becomes a third parent.
